“The food we eat is one of the most important aspects of the human experience. Food should nourish our bodies, but also be pleasureable. As our lives become busier, proper nourishment becomes more of a challenge. My goal is to help people return to the roots of wholesome food shared with friends and family around a dinner table, and to help them better access real foods that meet their nutritional and emotional needs.”

Experience

Angel Woodyard has been writing in the food, nutrition, and wellness space for over a decade. What started out as a few fun projects collaborating on special diet cookbooks turned into a passion as she sought to understand more about how nutrition and the experience of enjoying food fit into busy family life. This led to her culinary exploration of different cuisines, the science behind popular diets, and how to best nourish our bodies in the most natural way – through healthy meals enjoyed at home.

With a background that includes studies in nutrition, she has tried different meal delivery services and meal planning apps, assessing each for how they can lift people nutritionally, without sacrificing taste and quality. She’s quick to scrutinize claims and brings her scientist’s approach to fact-checking the claims of each meal delivery service she tries.

Education

Angel’s first foray into the world of higher education was to pursue a degree in journalism. Many years later she shifted gears and decided to pursue an undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology,  and her current goal is to continue working toward a Master’s degree in Molecular Genomic from Michigan State University.

As part of her ongoing education, Angel has also completed collegiate and enrichment courses in Human Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition, Community Health, Child Development, and Food & Culture.
