Hello Fresh is a healthy, economical choice for anyone that loves trying unique and delicious meals. Each meal typically includes a wholesome balance of proteins, fresh veggies or fruits, and healthy grains. You can expect to spend about 30 minutes to an hour cooking some recipes because you’ll be responsible for most of the meal prep. However, all your ingredients are guaranteed fresh since you won’t be dealing with preserved or pre-packaged items.
Hello Fresh has a reasonable number of dietary options for their meal plans. The four plans include Meat & Veggies, Veggie, Low Calorie, and Family Friendly. Each week’s meal options will filter based on your meal plan choice. However, each week also includes some special recipe categories such as Gourmet, Carb Smart, One Pot/Pan, Quick Meals, and Breakfast/Brunch options.
Dietary options for Hello Fresh meals could be improved by including options for gluten-free, dairy-free, Whole30, keto, Kosher, and diabetes-friendly. While none of the meal plans are tailored to these dietary options, you might find some meal options that fit your dietary needs. However, Hello Fresh leaves it up to you to sift through the ingredients and make the final call on whether or not the meal fits your dietary needs.
Hello Fresh offers you up to 20 weekly meal options including special bonus recipes, some of which will cost extra. Standard plans include meals for either two or four people with three, four, or five weekly meals.
Ingredient Quality
Hello Fresh upholds their name when it comes to freshness. Ingredients, particularly any produce, come in stellar condition with no damage or bruising from shipment.
Most of the dry ingredients and sauces come perfectly measured and portioned for cooking. However, your produce and proteins will be incredibly fresh and ready to be prepped by you. Meal prep time paid off in the end because we enjoyed the freshest ingredients which really enhanced each meal.

We chose to go with three meals for the week and each one was fabulous! Our meals were healthy, fresh, delicious, and exciting with each unique recipe. We felt inspired to cook more adventurously after enjoying so many new flavors. The Old-School BBQ Pork Sloppy Joes were deliciously revamped with Pickled Onion and Chipotle Ranch Slaw.
The Cheesy Smothered Mushroom Chicken was amazing and super comforting and filling. This meal would be a great choice for picky eaters with sides of classic Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Carrots.
Pork and Poblano Tacos had to be our favorite meal. We were amazed at how well the tacos paired with Kiwi Salsa which we had never tried before. This meal was fresh, creative, and delicious.

Hello Fresh has excellent pricing considering the quality and freshness of ingredients and portion size. Each meal tasted as good if not better than restaurant quality. Pricing for Hello Fresh is dependent on the number of meals or servings per week you choose, as well as if you select a special meal option such as Gourmet.

Packaging & Recycling
Hello Fresh did use some plastic packaging, but most of the materials included in the box were recyclable. Instructions for recycling were provided on the packaging. Other packaging for individual ingredients was minimal and simple.
Instructions and labeling were both organized, clear, and concise. We didn’t run into any confusion with cooking instructions or package labeling.
Customer Service
We did not encounter any issues with Hello Fresh customer service, and you can easily skip a week, edit a delivery, and pause or cancel your subscription. You can simply edit or skip a delivery by logging into your account, clicking ‘Menu’, and selecting the delivery day of the week you’d like to edit or skip.
If you’d like to pause or cancel your account, login to your Hello Fresh account, click your name in the top right, click ‘Account Settings’, and follow the prompt for account cancellation. Hello Fresh also has a live support chat that can help you via chat or call if you have any questions or concerns.

A. Log in to your Hello Fresh account. Click on ‘Settings’, then ‘Plan Settings’, then ‘Delivery Day’. Select your newly desired delivery date, click the back arrow, then save
Q. How long will Hello Fresh meals last in the fridge?
A. Hello Fresh meals seem to be good up to 5 days, but I wouldn’t exceed that amount. We cooked our 3 meals in 3 days, and always cook any seafood or fish we receive first as it only lasts 2 days in the fridge.
Q. When will I be charged for Hello Fresh?
A. The first box you order will be charged to you right away (not including any discounts), but all subsequent weekly orders are charged the Thursday before the designated delivery.Â
Q. What ingredients should I have handy at home?Â
A. Hello Fresh might ask that you have ingredients such as salt, pepper, milk, sugar, cooking oil, and butter and they provide the rest.
