Trifecta Menu
Trifecta Nutrition offers four different meal plans, so there are lots of options for meeting your dietary goals.
Italian Aioli Veggies with Chicken Thigh
Curried Vegetables with Shrimp
The four meal plan options include Clean Eating, which is focused on lean, clean eating with healthy whole grains, seasonal vegetables, and lean proteins.
If you just want to lose weight and eat cleaner but don’t want to follow a diet like paleo or keto, the Clean Meal Plan is a great option.
In addition, Trifecta offers a Keto Plan, Paleo & Whole30 Approved Plan, Clean Eating plan, and a Plant Based plan. Each is either chef-curated, where they send you a selection of meals, or choose your own meals.
Also, there’s a small selection of Classic Trifecta Meals that can be ordered a la carte. These are basic breakfast and dinner options that include lean protein, veg, and sometimes a grain. These meals are more macro-balanced, so they’re not specifically geared toward being low-carb or high-protein.
The other alternative is to order from Trifecta’s meal prep category. These are individual meal components that you can order to create your own meals. These aren’t meal kits like other services offer, but rather fully cooked ingredients for you to mix and match as you choose.
For example, you can create your own low-carb meals by selecting one of nearly a dozen lean animal proteins, then pair it with vegetables like asparagus or broccoli. If keto meals aren’t your thing and your goal is to add more whole grains to your diet, there are several grains, plus potatoes, that can be ordered.
Trifecta asks about allergens when you sign up. All of their meals are gluten-free and dairy-free, and nut-free options are available.
If you have a severe food allergy, contact the Trifecta Nutrition customer service team to make sure Trifecta Meals are appropriate for you before ordering.
The portion sizes range from 10-15oz each, which left us both wanting a bit more. I suppose if we had any starches or grains with our meals, we would have felt fuller.
Ingredient Quality
Trifecta is an organic meal delivery service that prides itself on quality and integrity.
Trifecta does an excellent job of choosing top-quality ingredients! They offer organic, non-GMO vegetables, grass-fed meat, free-range chicken and eggs, and wild-caught fish and seafood. Who else offers that level of ingredient quality? I can’t think of another meal delivery company that can say that.
While Trifecta is an organic meal delivery service, they don’t carry the certified organic label. Trifecta uses organic ingredients as much as possible, and most meals are organic.
However, they can’t guarantee what percentage of meals will be organic or that a specific ingredient will be organic. Because of this, they’re not certified organic.
They take a strong stance on being ecologically responsible and use sustainably sourced seafood, grass-fed meat, and high-quality, nutrient-dense food in their Trifecta meals.
One more detail that we appreciate about Trifecta is the food labels. You can read all the ingredients on the label easily, plus macro-nutrients are labeled clearly, which makes tracking them super easy.
Taste
I love the new meal choices where you can pick your own meals or get the chef curated box.
In the chef-curated box. In our experience, there was decent variety, although there was some repetition in flavors and ingredients.
With several meal plans, like Whole30, Paleo, and Clean Eating, ingredients like grilled chicken, standard low-carb fruits and veggies, and nutrient-dense carbs like sweet potatoes are found in many dishes.
Fajita Chipotle Chicken Bowl
Chicken Andouille Sausage and Veggies
However, Trifecta has really started to branch out with its flavors and try something new, like sweet potato noodles, which are a welcome change from the zucchini noodles that show up so often in low-carb meals.
There are some healthy fats that enhance the flavor, along with a variety of herbs and spices. Some of the recipes had a vinegary sauce, which started to make them all sort of taste the same. But we did have some favorites.
Coconut Curry Beef with Baked Sweet Potato
Bulgogi Beef with Sweet Spicy Zucchini
My husband and I tried two weeks of Paleo meals at different times and had some clear favorites. The chicken andouille sausage and veggies were fantastic, and they give you a good quantity of protein in each meal.
The Fajita Chipotle Chicken Bowl was a hit over here, too. Really inventive flavors while still hitting the macro levels. I’m sure if you’re not on Keto or Paleo, the recipes vary, but we had no grains at all.
Price & Shipping Costs
Trifecta is expensive at $15+ per meal on average, but it’s one of the healthiest options created by nutritionally trained chefs with the best ingredients available.
PLANS | PRICE PER SERVING 7 Entrees | PRICE PER SERVING 10 Entrees | PRICE PER SERVING 14 Entrees |
Clean Eating | $15.86 | $15.80 | $15.71 |
Whole30 | $15.86 | $15.80 | $15.71 |
Paleo | $15.86 | $15.80 | $15.71 |
Keto | $15.86 | $15.80 | $15.71 |
Plant Based | $14.99 | $14.49 | $13.99 |
Clean, healthy meals will cost more than your standard meal delivery. Plus, meals are shipped with vacuum-sealed packaging, making them last longer.
When you order, you can choose between 7, 10, and 14 meals for dinner or lunch each week. There’s also a selection of breakfast meals that you can add to your order that range between $11 and $13 each.
How much you end up spending depends on if you want more than one delicious Trifecta meal per day or if you prefer to just keep a few on hand for convenience when you want a fast dinner or just don’t want to deal with meal prep. However, seven meals per week seems to be the most popular option.
Trifecta charges a flat rate shipping fee of $9.99 on all orders in the Continental US. Shipping prices to Alaska and Hawaii are $49.99 because of the extra travel.
Success Stories & Before & After Photos
If you’re looking for some inspiration, Trifecta shares many positive success stories. Results range from losing more than 100 pounds to overcoming depression and completely resculpting their bodies.
The results speak for themselves, but with a good selection of meal plans that focus on healthy eating, along with delicious food that’s full of flavor and a few add-ons, Trifecta manages to offer exactly what many people need to lose weight and reclaim control of their health.
Plus, the macro-nutrient labeling and the Trifecta app make it easy to keep track of calories, fat, protein, and carbs.
Packaging & Recycling
Trifecta’s boxes and packaging materials are 98% biodegradable. The insulation in the box is made from plant-based renewable components and paper. And their ice packs are made with nitrogen-based plant food.
Our delivery arrived in a single box with all the meals well packed and sufficient ice packs to keep every meal nice and chilled until it made its way to the refrigerator. We weren’t home right when it arrived, so it was a relief that the packaging was sufficient to protect the meals until we were able to unbox them.
The new vacuum-sealed packaging is nice, and everything in the box was easy enough to recycle.
Trifecta Nutrition Program
Trifecta’s program is centered around weight loss and building lean muscle. There’s a misconception floating around out there that Trifecta Nutrition is primarily a meal delivery service for those following the keto diet, which isn’t true at all.
Trifecta meals are macro-balanced for weight loss, so healthy, lean proteins are at the forefront, but this is combined with proper caloric intake and meals that are nutrient-dense all the way around.
Trifecta understands that we don’t always know where to start when it comes to weight loss programs. There are so many different plans out there and a lot of confusing information to go with them.
Healthy meal delivery services are an investment, so Trifecta offers a quick and painless short quiz to assess what type of plan you need. Once you sign up, a specialized plan is developed using your answers.
The quiz starts off by asking what your health and dietary goals are. Do you want to lose weight, gain muscle, or maintain weight? Other factors, like your activity level, dietary preferences, and body composition, are factored in. Trifecta even asks if you’re a picky eater because they understand that actually liking the food is key to success.
Trifecta has introduced an app that makes following the program super easy. The Trifecta App provides you with precise nutritional information needed to meet your dietary goals, along with tips, tracking, and easy access to your Trifecta account.
The final element of Trifecta’s Nutrition Program is community support. Whether you’re looking to lose weight or just clean up your eating, making these types of changes is easier when you have a support network behind you.
The Trifecta community offers accountability, camaraderie, and inspiration.
