Each of the fresh meals come with a few ingredients and preparation steps to make one meal. And, if you are cooking for two, order two of the same meal and you’ll cut down on the prep time. The Tovala Smart Oven easily fits two trays. 

These are not like your average meal prep kits with extra chopping or cooking. The prep here takes a minute or two, and needs no special cooking skills. The Smart Oven takes care of that for you!

With Tovala, you can choose between four and sixteen meals per week. The four-meal plan starts at $51.96 per week, while the sixteen-meal plan is $207.84 per week. The average Tovala meal cost is $12.99/serving, but you can choose their lowest price meals at $9.99/serving, and they have special meals at $17.98 at the highest. There are no price breaks for ordering more meals.

It is important to note that each meal is only a single portion. Tovala is no longer offering free shipping, so you’ll need to add $9.99 to each weekly cost for shipping.

The Tovala Smart Oven is what makes the Tovala meals so easy. The Tovala Smart Oven is connected to Wifi and has scan-to-cook technology. This means that you can scan the recipe card from Tovala meals, press start, and it will cook them perfectly without you having to enter any settings.

You can also scan more than 850 grocery products like frozen foods or a frozen meal from Trader Joe’s that are registered to cook perfectly in the Tovala Smart oven when scanned. Of course, you can also use the oven to make your own food or use the Tovala recipe library and cook from scratch with your own ingredients.

Each recipe uses specific cooking cycles, each using different cook methods. Using the barcode, the oven already knows which cook methods to use and for how long so that you get a tasty, perfectly cooked meal every time.

I wanted to make a special note about the air fry option in the Tovala Smart Oven. It really does replace a separate air fryer, and puts out fantastic, crispy foods. I like it better than my solo air fryer.

The customer service is a hit or miss with Tovala. Some customers have great experiences, and others continue to be frustrated. Tovala offers chat, email, and phone support. The chat option seems to be more helpful than the phone, as a common complaint is that all agents are busy when calling by phone.

However, there is a lot that you can accomplish through your account online. You can change your weekly deliveries, including skipping a week, choosing your meals, and changing the number of meals you receive. Additionally, you can also cancel at any time through your online account, so the only time you should need the customer support is if something is awry with the delivery once you receive it.
