Taste
Filet Mignon
New York Strip
They have some of the best tasting USDA Prime steaks anywhere. I have yet to find anywhere but Chicago Steak, gourmet dry aged beef that gives these steaks their buttery tenderness.
Angus Steak Burgers
Top Sirloin
Their flavorful steak burgers are not your average burger, available in USDA Prime, Wagyu, and Premium Angus beef. You choose how elevated your next cookout is!
Chicago Steak Prices
Chicago Steak Company has some of the highest prices we’ve seen in meat delivery. Burgers cost anywhere from $20 – $30/lb, but the quality ranges from Premium Angus to USDA Prime steaks and Wagyu. You don’t see that everywhere!
For steaks, filet mignon averages $90/lb for USDA Choice Angus, and Ribeyes cost about $35/steak for an 8 oz boneless ribeye.
Mixed assortments vary in price but average about $26/lb for their smallest sampler.
Packaging & Recycling
Packaging from Chicago Steak Company is not the most environmentally friendly. It arrives in a styrofoam cooler, which is reusable, but styrofoam isn’t great for the planet.
The food is kept frozen with dry ice and ice packs in plastic bags. I didn’t see any instructions on the website or in the box on how to recycle everything.
Customer Service
Since there are no subscriptions at Chicago Steak Company, you don’t have to think about skipping weeks or months or changing your recurring order. This is a very nice feature in a sea of meat delivery subscriptions.
Express shipping is free and arrives on time reliably, which is important for gifts or special events you’re planning.
I did try to contact customer service through website chat and had lengthy delays (4+ hours). So, the bot asked me to leave my email address and someone would get back to me. When I never received an email reply, I went back to the site and opened up chat, and saw they had responded.
